Kwan Yin Goddess of Compassion
Om Mani Padme Hum " Hail the Jewel or Lotus". This is the chant to evoke Kwan Yin for help. She is a Bohisattva. She lived in 7th century China. As a child she was quite special and misunderstood. Her name givem to her at birth was Miao-Shan. She came from roality. However, she was rejected in her own family. Miao- Shan father was determined to have her marry but she refused. Her condition to marry was if she could help the world to stop suffering. This is when her journey began. A Bodhisattva is an " Enlightended being" . Kwan Yin could have chosen to go directly to Nirvana but she chose to stay on earth tohelp mankind to become enlightened.
